Well I did it again. I was replacing the 2" duct that runs from the heater to the defrost vents. Things were going pretty well until I twisted just a bit too hard and pulled the damned thing down out of the dash. Turns out the silly thing is made of a cross between card board and paper mache' OK so its not the end of the world. I can creatively engineer this one or if I want things to really get out of hand I can make a new , upgrade vent from Kydex plastic, the next problem is that I need to drop the windshield to have access to the screws that hold the vent in. To drop the windshield I have to remove or at least raise the hard top, I hadn't planned on removing the top just yet.
I wish I had read this 2 years ago so I could've learned from your mistake
it's taken me 2 years just drawing the plans in CAD for her to give to our builder. I've changed it so many times...add to that she cant "vision" it in on flat paper so I had to model the whole freaking thing in 3D after I was done so she could "walk" through it for her to say she didn't like something and to change it.
but we're finally in permit review now, hopefully this 3 year project will be done come January and I can fully devote my time and $$$ to the CJ

Lucky you! In the words of Slick Willie, I feel your pain!
My wife even had the furniture modeled in the house to make sure it was right. Worse yet, I was the builder no passing the buck here.
Also after I started building the sky opened up to the wettest year in recent history, until I got the roof on then the drought started.
LongHorn, OUCH and yup I had to put the furniture in also how many sqft is that? and I like your winch pond you gonna build some sliders and take up wake skating?
this is another one of those projects...how do you wakeboard without a boat? just use an old tiller

Not much ice in this part of Texas. On the SqFt. 9,000 air conditioned.
There is room to buildout another 3,000 in the attic if I decide to go B&B after the kids leave.
67 cj5,225 Dauntless, D30,chrome molies, detroit, D44, full floating detroit, custom steering, disc all the way around,2 inch lift on 31s, armored up
70 cj6 4 inch lift
"Honey" I started, because I had found a new Jeep on craigs list I wanted. "Want to go to the desert to look at a 67 CJ?" Well unfortunately for me she agreed, I had just totalled my 04 and needed a trail jeep. Neither her 08 or my 70 are really trail jeeps, Hers may be a Rubicon but wheel it more than a few times a year and she will tell me I am messing with HER Jeep. The 70 is a CJ6 and the idea of denting that is like taking a 70 Challenger to a demo derby, some vehicles just do not get taken to the rocks. So we set off and found a sweet 67 CJ5 with a 225 and pto system.
So I decided just for the season I would put on disc brakes up front, 11 inch drum in the back and new seats.
So here it is 3 months later, rear brakes and new 2 stage master cylinder are installed, front disc are waiting for the new axle. Front axle, well lets say I am over 2 grand into having a Dana 30 built, and mad do I mean built, because of either compatibility problems or because of discontinued parts I have upgraded almost every thing in it. Chrome moly shafts, bigger u joints, new input shaft with bigger u joints, that means new drive shaft, oh yea a Detroit in it, new gears and custom bearings for the custom pumpkin I decided I just had to have, and that was just the stat to that. Now seeing as all the brake system is new, why not replumb. that is a blast and I will do that today. I have one seat in and am redesigning the custom seat mounts I am welding up, seems nothing fits these things anymore.
So I now have a front axle with a locker I decide to upgrade the rear, You see 67s came with 19 spline shafts, so I am doing a full floater conversion with 30 splines and a Detroit back there. Now that is next, but right now I have replaced the gasoline system with a propane injection system and got a rebuild kit for the D18 on my desk, I have replaced the clutch linkage with a roller chain kit from Advanced Adapters and am looking for a new Transmission .
She let me get a Warn Powerplant so the PTO drive and winch are going to leave the jeep soon.
So how did a simple 3 months make me get so out of hand?
Lets just say I love doing this and it would have happened anyway. My Hobby is wheeling and working on Jeeps. So this just gave me an excuse to do a bit of it so I could wheel where ever I wanted again.
DAYUM!!!! thats a nice pad, we're at 5500.
BTW, Ice is not preferred for the wake riding. The warmer the better, though we have ridden while it snows, but when the water is 40 degrees and the air is in the 30s the shrieks when submerging yourself for your pull are great. especially if your boot string is caught in the drysuit and the water rushes in. WOOOOO! that'll wake you up!

95 wrangler with 88 4.2 carbed with puguetoe(?) 5spd both fresh rebuilds, spring over, 3inch body, spring arched 2 inches and stiffened, 10 inches of total lift on 36inch tsls 8k mile marker winch, ect.
1969 dodge charger rt se 440, 727 torqueflite 3.55 suregrip with 8 3/4 axle, everyone is making her a headache for me but i love her 1000xs more then my jeep
2005 dodge 3500 cummins 6speed dually work truck, not mine
My mom let me drive her "new" 95 wrangler 4 banger 5 speed..... mistake!
She let me take it wheeling, bigger mistake, it is now mine from stealing it and it ran like . It came with no rings and a bad clutch, little did we know, but i found that out and fixed it for them. So skip alittle bit, I blew the clutch racing off the line, 2nd gear tire squeal . Impressive intill it wouldnt start out in any gear. So new clutch $AMC 150 , still broke, new clutch master cylinder $35, new slave cylinder that i hose clumped the bleeder shut , the motor is still shot so a rebuild is $300 new everything and bored out, naw that aint nuff powa!! So I found a 93 Cher. I6 AW4 auto running $200, with title, so now i have to custom the engien and anny mounts, and my a stick and auto and dump the old truck. But being ambushus i went a head and have a 8.5 lift and the frnt and the back is still 3 inches, and this project was supposed to take 2 weeks, its now 5 weeks.
And I have my 69 Charger in the garage i still need to work on
all my projects get entirely out of hand. I've got a dirt track in my back yard and I keep finding "free fill dirt" ads on craigslist... My winch for hitting the river which likes to break and always needs to be faster plus building rails to hit which get washed away not to mention pulling trees out of the river to clear the way so we can kayak, etc.... and this summer I cleared a path down a steep hill and made my own board\sledding trail so now I want to build a snowgun.
