Thanks for looking guys. I have a 86' CJ7 with a AMC 304 motor from 79'. I can't get this thing running to save my life. I recently rebuilt the 2150 carb as of last week. I carefully went through the carb. I did however I set the choke back to almost closed. Hoping to help with hard starting issues. Ever since I owned the jeep the choke has been wide open. All the rest of the adjustments I kept the same. After installing the carburetor I was able to get it run once with starting fluid. It probably ran for 10+ minutes. The choke open as it should & Idle was increasing as it warmed up. I started the idle mixture screws at 2 and a half out.. I started making some adjustments to Idle/mixture screws. I decided to hold off doing any other adjustment till after its driven. Anyway when I turned it off I was not able to get it started again. I replaced everything in the carburetor down 2 the float. New battery, new coil new plugs and starter. I'm getting plenty of fuel at carb. It's turning over but wont run. I'm combing through the vacuum system for the thousandth time. Not sure what to do at this point. Originally I was going to replace carb all together but after talking to weber and summit etc. I could not get a straight answer on direct replacement. However, I just learned today Holley makes one that should work. I really don't want to put anymore money into it. Any suggestions would be greatly appropriated.
