Took the Scrambler out for a drive.

Well, took the doors off the Scrambler went out for a nice long drive last evening and had a blast! Stopped by a few friends to show off and give them a thrill...

Man, the extra inches that the CJ8 has over my CJ5 makes a huge difference in comfort (that and the difference in the springs), Pete put in some nice seats also. Very comfortable.

FedX dropped off some parts yesterday so looks like the doors will be getting REAL vent windows, weather stripping and new regulators.

On the trail, I have seen where the short jeeps are great in the tight windy stuff and the longer vehicles perform better on the steep hills and steps. When you get older the longer Jeep rides better and your stomach has better steering wheel clearance.

Just write down the milage on the speedo when you fill it up, 200 miles later, it's time to fill it up again

Funny man!

Except for the typical 134,000 mile steering issues (a little steering wheel play) - the Scrambler drives perfect at 65 mph +, no braking issues what so ever and has no castor or camber problems.

Not so sure about the dimmer switch laying "on top" of the floor board though!

Pete, just noticed that the factory rear half cab sheet metal plate is in GREAT shape! They are hard to find...

The overall condition of the body was what I really liked for a Pa. Cj. A clean bulkhead is hard to find , a rear view mirror , not so much.

Just to let you know I am VERY jealous right now of you driving your 8 since mine is a scrap heap of parts sitting in my garage patiently waiting for me to work one her and get back to former glory.
