Hey Guys! Quick question. The coolant hose (Pic 👇) going from the water pump to the intake manifold runs higher than the top of the radiator. Should I be concerned about trapped air in the hose? I'm not experiencing overheating, with operating temp 180-195 degrees. Is there some way I can check for air in the hose, without getting anti-freeze everywhere? Thanks!

If it's running fine leave it alone. But it should be much shorter

Thanks bud! I was suspecting that it could be a problem. With the hot weather, I'd rather be safer then sorry, and cut a couple inches off the hose.

If you're going to cut the hose, clamp the hose on the other end And that one closer to the thermostat housing and you will hardly lose any coolant

This is about the height your looking for and fyi that front hose bib should be like a 45⁰

They do make a hose for that. Where my finger is, is where I have released air from the system by just loosening the clamp a little and tug the hose a little and air has escaped a couple of times I have done something with the radiator. IMG_4119.webp IMG_4118.webp

Hey Guys! Thanks for all the helpful feedback! I was able to shave off a few inches from hose, but its still sitting higher than the radiator. I'm concerned about cutting off anymore, since the hose is already starting to kink. Thoughts??

Just ordered a 3/4 heater hose with a 90 degree bend on Amazon. It's a cheap Chinese POS, but the brand names were either unavailable, too short, or the wrong diameter. Fingers crossed!

Could always go with one of these and use regular hose

You should just be able to take the old one out and put the angle or type you want to use back in.

Thanks, but how the heck do you do that? I really don't want to be cutting off the water pump/manifold hose fittings and tapping in threads.
The intake nipple is 1/2 or 3/4 npt. Cannot remember which one.

The curved elbow pictured is factory. But they do go bad hence the ones I mentioned
