Hey lads,

Had a quick question regarding vacuum routing. Recently had my amc 360 rebuilt. She runs great, couple of items here and there that need to be tackled but nothing major.

When the engine was put back together I noticed a vacuum line running from the full time vacuum port (edelbrock carb) to a port on the intake. I don't remember it being like that before.

PCV is hooked up correctly, Ported vacuum is running to the distributor but then someone also hooked up the full time vacuum to the intake. See pics below (line in question is the small one next to PCV)

I watched the edelbrock videos, they state that the driver side port is normally used for automatic transmissions and otherwise should just be capped.

So just for kicks I disconnected the line and capped the carb and intake port. Started her up and my idle raced to around 2200 RPM :).

Now should I have it capped, like I tried, and then just readjust the timing and carb, or is there any special reasoning behind the way it is now

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Nevermind, I was being an idiot as usual :). The problem was the fast idle screw being in way too far, when engaged kept idle way to high.
