Vapor Canister Install ('86 CJ7) - parts from '93-'95 Grand Cherokee
Rollbar
Active Jeeper
The Jeep was running very bad like the timing chain skipped a tooth/plugs fouled. After changing out all the ignition stuff (all the from the ing module to the the rotor) and timing set (which was loose but in time) I narrowed it down (with help form Jeepers) to vacuum. Tightened and installed new vacuum lines after I did all this work, ran great then started to stumble again so I bought a vapor canister as well. If it does it again then the next thing is to drop the tank.

NAPA could not find the stock vapor canister so I ordered one for a '93-'95 Jeep Grand Cherokee.
Old stock canister
Canister mount
New canister (note plug on left side-pull out)
I used a 5/16" bit to drill out the right side, then changed to 1/4" (I did chew up the nipple some)
New canister bottom sealed
Canister hook up diagram/install
Note: 5/16" hose to tank needs to be extended, a 6" piece should be fine.
Canister comparison
Note: Some pics came from Scotty 1998 on ifsja. I couldn't put the writing on the pics. Thanks Scotty
