The color is por with 2 coats of top coat. The color is really to my likeing. The only thing is the shop smells big time when I did it and I keep my hunting dogs in the shop. I blasted it first then pored it. It had 2-72 gears and I had a pro do the ring gear work. It now has 3-73. It has all new bearings etc. I never did any ring gear work so it was farmed out all the rest will be done by me. It will be worked on the run. It is really in great shape. I bought it off the second owner 60000 on it. And when you look at it it shows with lack of rust etc. In fact the owner still emails to see how the progress on her is going.

It is the stock 4 speed. Not really sure but I am pulling it out next and will post pics of transfere and tranny. I am pretty sure it does have the 300 tranfere case. Started at the front and working back. It needs a clutch and through out bearing after thrity years of clutch riding.

Thanks, if the engine and Transmission is stock it has to be the T-176 . The T-4 or SR4 (period correct) were behind the 4 & 6 cyl, plus you would end up with a 13” driveshaft.

A little under the weather but was able to pick up my diff. Installed the axles ujoints and seal. Then put on the spindles and had to rework the new dust cover a bit to fit. Hope to go for a spin tommorrow before the clutch tare down.

Got the axle back in with thanks to some fourm members insite on axle play and torqe specs. Starting to look sexy Just have to wait for some brake padds.Seems to be a golden egg at the parts stores. Glad I did it pretty sure it will help me with road side repairs some time in the future.

No pics tonight but will have tommorow. I got the front end on and all the new tie rods installed. Then we bled the brakes after we installed the new brake pads We had to bleed the whole thing because the brake light in the speedo was on. Plan to put on the diff cover fill with oil and go for a rip tomorrow. I asked sone simple guestions along the way but you fellows helped me out big saved a lot of redo's thanks. Next is the clutch

I was able to go for a little rip and check the front end. Every thing seems good no howls steers good brakes work. Nice to go for a rip. Start back to the shop and find the howl under the hood. turns out it is the bearing on the alt. then started to tear out the tranny Transfer Case .

Made progress pulled tranny transfere case.Does not look to bad so far. I will start to clean and replace. Glad I did the pilot bushing was junk. In fact I will take a picture of it because it is so butched I have no idea how it was in there.

Working on the oil pan leaks And changing out gaskets. Ordered in a rebuild kit for the tranny. Slower progress then I wood like but good work takes time. Got the fly machined and will start to reinstall clutch

Put the pan gasket on turned out to be a harder job then I remember. It should be ok. The gaskets fit in weird, the side gaskets go in after the round ones making it a trick. The round ones were shorter and you fit in the cork oned on top. Next time it will be on a engine stand when the motor gets rebuilt next winter. Started on the Transfer Case stumbling along with a little help from the forum not to bad so far. Big debat weather to repaint or just reasemble.
