What did you do to or with your CJ today?
I disappointed today. Guy down the road had a under seat fuel tank for sale. I always had a dream of both an under seat and a rear tank. dual tanks just like the big diesels. I went and looked at it, took some measurement came home and realized it won't fit. Even once I built new seat brackets the floor has a big hump under the right front mount. Add to the the roll bar interferes with the opposite corner. What a downer. :(
On the up side I did get another wheel painted and glove box door back in. :)

I have this thought running around in my head about quick disconnect hoses going to the Jerry cans, kind of like boat tanks. With an electric switching valve that will allow the reserve tanks to be used before the tank.

still a work in progress.:D

Got off work a little early because the mailman dropped off some tie rod flip inserts.:D A couple hours latter and voila, tie rod and drag link are up and out of the way:):)

Speaking of gas tanks, I've been kicking around the idea of using two 3 foot piece of 12"X4" rectangular tubing mounted under the tub on the outside of the frame. You could fill them from inside the rear wheel well and they would hole about 7.5 gallons each.

picked up my relays to start my headlight upgrades.
Box tubing plus outside rails won't be DOT approved.

WooHoo picked up my bikini top today.

What brand of inserts did you get? Also, did you use the stock pitman arm, or a drop pitman arm? Post up some pictures, please/thanks.

Ran some deep water to get to a fishing hole with my CJ7 swamp buggy. Since rebuilding the motor and changing the Transfer Case gears 4-1. It has all the power needed to pull itself anywhere. Got hung up on some tall palmettos while turning off a main trail. Put it in four low and jumped right out and over the tall bushes and stumps. Having fun now:D

This is toward the end of a VERY long rebuilding project on my jeep I call the Witch. Today I patched the floor where it was torn by the PO when he replaced the front tub bracket and a rusted area under the roll cage using plate steel and automotive glue. That stuff is expensive but impressive.

The heater box was replaced so after making sure the heater core didn't leak I put it back together and installed it.

While at it the rear view mirror was glued back on.

Then some wiring under the hood was cleaned up using that wire bundle tube stuff. Looks MUCH nicer now. The battery was installed and I couldn't help myself so I started the AMC 304 after a long process. Couldn't drive her but it was nice to hear her run again.

Frankly I'm getting itchy to get the Witch up and on the road. I am getting closer but it's been a long project.

Took the hardtop off (finally ) and put the bikini top on, pics tomorrow :D

Anything you did, washed it , broke it, drove it, or improved it!

Sure there is. But the best place to ask a question like this is to post a thread in the correct forum. I'll give you a link to the drivetrain forum and you can just click on it and start a new thread like you did here.

Title it something like "CJ7 AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l carb issues" and then explain it in more detail in your post. Questions like this get more views from people willing to help when put in the correct spot. :) Heres the link, click on the red.

Last night i finally got around to installing my 2 degree shims on the front axle with new u bolts and hook my sway bar back up. My axle only had 2 degrees of caster. Now i have a little over 4 degrees and boy was it nice to drive to work today. I have to re center the steering wheel now as it is canted to the left a bit.

I will be picking up a new oil filler/breather cap and putting that bad boy on so that I can connect the hose from the air cleaner.

Fixed the tarp that covers it. and wished I could work on it instead of my kitchen renovation

Yesterday I dropped $550 on an excellent rebuilt and complete 360. Today I finally welded up all the extra holes in the tub. Not a lot of drilled holes for a 38 year old Jeep. The witch definitely felt better afterwards. I need to get this thing done, it's soaked up enough of my money for now.
