I would strongly recommend a shroud for the radiator's fan.
Looks great!

Thanks...

hmmmm... I don't remember if there was one or not and I never took a before shot of the engine compartment.

I sent a text to Adam about it.

I know the radiator had been welded at the lower hose location and showed signs of leaking... thus the new radiator. Might have been lost then.

Even it it didn't come with one-Get one. Come summer, you'll be glad you did.

Correct-Mine had the 'towing package' and a HD radiator w/shroud was part of the package.

I think I've got standard cooling…. wonder if there is a junkyard equivalent that I could look for on the cheap. I've never seen a CJ in the yard.

Went out this past weekend and Monday with Posi and his cousin Rad and did some wintertime wheeling. On Monday Posi, Rad, Carol and I took Old Stage Road up to FS 379 then to Frosty Park. We decided (actually, it was Carol's suggestion) to swing over and come back down FS 370C. What she failed to know from her Forest Service map was that this trail is known in local circles as "Eagle Rock / Saran Wrap" and is a very difficult trail. Posi was piloting his brand new 1971 CJ5 with a 225 Dauntless Buick 225 V6 and got to put it to a real test. All went very well and we had a great day.

Posi's new ride.

The above photo was taken at Frosty Park and that is Colorado Springs in the background.

For some reason the site will only allow me to post one photo at a time today so here's another. . . .

Wow! Two this time.

Last night around 8:30, we're buttoning things up for a short inaugural ride around the block when the brand new starter solenoid decides to lock up…

Another run to Advance… and success!!!!

Good power… tracks straight… rides nice!!!

Adam says they just don't ride this nice… I think he is in love...

Very nice. I loved my first ride after the work I did to mine last winter. Big smiles. And mine was not even this nice.

Cool pics Bill!

I grew up in CO… beautiful country.

Great looking Jeep, Mike! You did a beautiful job on her. If you were back in Colorado this morning, you would need a bit more top. It's a balmy 2 degrees in Colorado Springs, -2 in Denver and -12 in Fraiser. Where in Colorado did you grow up?

Looking awesome Mike...I am jealous!

My tub was pulled today so I am a month or so behind ya!

Thanks! I've been watching your build thread… can't wait to see it come together.

Thanks! Not sure I'd be out in 2º regardless. Born and raised in Denver, but been all over growing up and rode the motorcycle from San Diego (35 years) to Durango, Telluride, Montrose, Ouray, CO Springs, Pueblo, Pike's Peak, Steamboat, Vale, Aspen, Grand Junction, Boulder, Nederland, etc…….

Glad to be in NC now… feels like home… and there's guns...

I too was born in Denver. Do you recall what hospital you were born in?
We lived on South Logan St.

A very simplistic direction with the build, netted you a very nice looking true CJ7 looking Jeep. :notworthy: Good Job!

Thanks, that was the plan… kind of a CJ7 Willys.

Got the safety inspection today and the license plate/registration. No more smog :dung:… hit the statute of limitations for NC.

Adam is going over things and tweaking. I'll be over there helping him finish it Saturday night. Then Mary and I are going to pick it up after church on Sunday and go for a right nippy (albeit not CO nippy) ride… supposed to be in the 40s. Then it is coming home.
