What did you do to or with your CJ today?
Which ones? Mine have domed tempered glass faces. They really make the gauges look expensive. I didn't order them that way, they came with flat plastic faces. They look nice enough. But when I found out the faces can be ordered from Speed Hut they were ordered. I really like the looks of them.
 
Black face, white text, (OEM look) but glow red at night


Got the black discs in red pointers, and black ring around the outside

Not sure on the glass, whatever the standard glass I think?
 
You would have had to order the domed glass. I missed where to order it too. If the gauge you ordered has a hole in the face for resetting it you couldn't get domed glass. Sounds like yours are nice either way.
 
I have not been able to drive my CJ7 since thanksgiving. I started hearing a tapping sound and couldn't identify where it was coming from. With terrific over the phone help from an AZ jeeper and a nudge from another I pulled the valve cover

Glad you are hanging in there Ma'am. Keeping these AMC products on the road, this long after they became something else, is no easy task. Its easy to get discouraged. Happy New Year!
 
Decided to install my license plate... thought it would be simple.

This lead to the discovery that the bracket was bent, so had to remove the taillight which lead to the discovery that the electrical connector was filled with gunk.

Got the bracket straightened out, the gunk cleaned out, reconnected with dialectric grease, then reinstalled the taillight and license plate.

of course... now I'm looking at doing all of the other connections.

Yeah, this one was as well. Gonna paint the needles here in a bit........ and since this is not the original speedo cluster, and my title already says the mileage is incorrect, I went ahead and zeroed out the odometer. If it's already incorrect I figure I'll just log my miles..... it's still incorrect, just a different incorrect LOL

Thanks for the encouragement. I am at a crossroads as to what to do with it right now and thankfully the PO didn't do a lot of goofy stuff. It's just not what I bought it for. I bought it to drive!!!

It is an addiction that I choose to live with. Sometimes it makes me question the sense of it all. The cost, inconvenience, anguish, cost. I hope you stay with it. Not much in this life quite like being owned by a jeep. Good luck!
 
Today I stripped and repainted the engine the correct blueish/ green, AMC color. Also media blasted a few dozen other small parts , tire carrier, bumperettes, brackets, pullys, front winch bumper, etc and powder coated them.
