What did you do to or with your CJ today?
also shopping spree, 4x springs, new clutch assy, a lot of misc goodies, ECM(don't need-have 4) extra radiator(have 3) exhaust including CAT(which I won't install CAT) basically a box of goodies with a few items I wanted and rest to sell. And a YJ hood...don't ask, that's a whole different bastardized project lol

Ordered frame and axle/panhard brackets from Artec for the front 60 swap

A sixty in the front, that’s a beast.

Really more of a "I got a late start and don't have the time, let alone the money or the patience to go through this again" deal 🤣

It's a long story

A teenage vision that was never fulfilled with the first one ('71 five) that I was dumb enough to let get away, once I got bit with the bug

Hoping to fulfill the prophecy...good Lord willing and the welds hold up

Will make a good campfire story regardless of how it turns out...

Wow That will be a beast, just my 44 swap size differences was amazing to me to go From a 30 to 60 will make the 30 Look like toy parts

Haven’t done it yet, but talked to a custom upholstery shop today about swapping zippers in my soft top. The top is great, but the zippers suck. They’re falling alert. 3 year old top....... First shop kinda frowned, and politely declined the job. Second one said sure - no sweat. I’ve seen the work they do - Very Nice. Soooo, once I get a couple days of nice weather, gettin the turds swapped for nice heavy duty zippers.

Trying To find idler and tensioner pulley that will work so I can get it running again. Got some from O'reillys that should do me. Will try to get them in this weekend. Then I can put in the new clutch fan and radiator.

I have a similar problem with the bikini top. The tie down straps broke off. I need new ones sown on.

I had new straps done before.

I looked at the straps on my bikini top the other day and wondered why they haven’t pulled off yet. So far so good...

Not only do you need wrenching and welding skills to keep these oldies alive, but sewing skills as well. I have also replaced straps on the safari top (safari extends over back seat also whereas bikini only covers front seats) and also made my own zippered bar covers for my custom sport bar (YJ "family style" bar with homemade spreaders and windshield hoop). Also had a torn seam in a front seat where I removed the covering and re-sewed that seam and put it back on. And when I made my center console, I also sewed the padded cover from a piece of vinyl I cut from the back of an old seat at the salvage yard. I also sewed new door limiting straps from an old laptop carrying bag shoulder strap.

Yup - CJ’s will definitely make a seemstress outta you. Converting my old snap mounted fastback top to channel mount was a lot of fun.......

Wow. Not sure my wife's sewing machine could handle those thick edges or plastic "sliders" for a channel mount.

Nope - Not even close. That’s why I sat in the basement for a few evenings predrilling the plastic and sewing by hand....... It’s a lot of fun - I highly recommend it. Not.

Got a small shop not far away that did the straps, then about 4 years ago I had some strap material I got from the F I L and got the same guy again to make some door limiting straps for my YJ 1/2 doors. Was well worth the $ 12 for labor.

Ive been wanting that Chinese hand stitching machine, I think that would do sewing alot faster than by hand
