Just realized you're in MD, it's a cool 60 here and I'm bellyaching lol.
60 and above isn’t to shabby either unless you are getting rain

We need rain really bad here, under extream drought. And also up in the Ohio valley to chase the salt water out of the Mississippi River and back into the Gulf of Mexico

I'm not playing with the big boys and girls.a2aa61e8ec28c88d01b29a142a382ef7.jpg09ee94815017b913529f175de9d38ef7.jpg6535ff9a0840d750424e2cd05f271726.jpg

Since I put the hardtop on, I don't think I will ever go topless again. The upgraded air works wonderful. No more wind, heavy rain, or snow finding its way in. A heater that will drive you out of the jeep. No more sunburn on one side of my body. Don't get me wrong, I have had decades of topless moments, bikini tops, safari tops from the 70s, full soft doors, split soft doors, no doors, you name it. I have just found a satisfying comfort level in my old age, and it's called a hardtop :)

Hope I don't get that old lol, actually, getting there. Use to live in Colorado Springs, stationed at FT Carson, before all the Casino's etc I would travel gold camp road, Manitou, 11 mile reservoir, etc.

Enjoy the ride. Maybe you just need a Cherokee. I know a couple of guys that have done a lot of over landing in built CJ8s. One sold his 8 and now does his trips in a 4 X 4 Cherokee 1980s unit. No more tent for him. He just sleeps in the back of the Cherokee

You can keep your cherokee. The hard top doesn't keep me off of the trails. I'm still capable of going anywhere you do, I just do it in comfort

I don’t have one. I tell people who want a Jeep, but have no intention of taking the top off to just get a Cherokee. Have an older brother in law back in early 2000s saw I was having fun in mine. Bought a soft top Jeep and took it off once. After about 3 years he went back to his bmw . They were just not Jeep people.

Fun on the rocks in the rain and fog503584c84b9a323898ae163638222877.jpgf4094cee26d4beae71123d08973b6527.jpg1efaa0c6141f3bf7c565a705337fda06.jpg

Wow, judge much? In 50 years of jeep ownership, I have owned two hardtops and four soft tops, Two were v8s and four were 6 cylinders. I was simply stating that I find the hardtop to be a pleasant change. Taking it off and putting it back on doesn't define anyone as "jeep people"

I may not be a smart man but I know not to play in the rocks bigger than my Jeep 2466b05cf2e725f5781367873a40d2b1.jpgfab271ff0e052f90579d6558d7d91e26.jpg

Agree 100%. They can destroy a Jeep. That’s what an old dodge or Chevy or Ford are for. That and that thick mud also.
Just my 2cents.

Broke my Jeep had to be towed home yesterday. Nothing serious seems more like a technical issue with the EFI (sniper) made me do a dukes of hazard style jump not fun on a mountain.

Basically I was easing up to a cliff/drop off and when I eased up to the edge my throttle shot up to about 2500 RPM and I went flying bounced hard on the landing knocked the T case out gear and slid. My rpm remained high until I shut it off then idle seemed normal until I tried to drive again and it shot up and hung around 1800 even in neutral. I eventually let it high idle as I rolled down the trail in neutral until I reached a flat area that I could mess with it. Ended up putting some electrical tape over the iac sensor so that I could drive it back to camp at a reasonable RPM. Now for the diagnosis and repair.

Sounds a little scary when something like that happens. I’m all ears with what you come up with. I have one also and have not done much of testing it out, and only on trails up in N. Carolina. No real cliff hangers yet.
