Full Time Jeeper
Roll started it twice. In reverse. Once in the driveway, the other at an intersection on a steepish hill. I think my battery is dying. Does not seem to have enough power to turn the engine over anymore.

I fixed two leaks on the brakes, replaced 2 bleeder screws cleaned out the other two and bled the brakes enough to achieve a firm pedal, it has been over a decade since this Jeep has had a working brake system :0. Time for bed, I hope to get the rest of the air out when I wake up

- 1974 CJ5 ~ Fresh built AMC 360 - SM420 - D20 - D30F with upgraded 30 spline shafts and knuckles & D44R - 4.27 Gears - ARB Lockers F/R - All chrome molly axles - on 33's - YJ 4" Lift Spring Conversion
Grabbed my newly bored, decked, and polished 360 block, heads, cam, crank, pistons, etc all from the machine shop.
Drooled over it all a bit :drool:
Then got to work.
In a couple hours we got the Cam installed, crank installed, and all pistons dropped in and tightened. Need to torque them still but everything seemed to be moving nicely!
I can see the finished 360 swap at the end of the tunnel now...

I replaced the water pump with OEM and the thermostat with a gates High Flow model.

Yea, there's another option. Come out here anyway you can and rent a jeep. These rental jeeps can be taken on any trail except Black Bear Pass and Poughkeepsie Gulch.
007 might be able find a rental jeep that you can take on those 2 trails. He got the "Barbie Jeep" for Posi.
Woo-Hoo! I just finished a deal on a sweet CJ that I found in Colorado Springs. The OP says it runs great without any issues a turn key CJ.
My plan is to ship my other CJ home and use this one for the Moab and Ouray trips.

Murphy's law! Didn't see a washer between the bell and engine while tightening the clutch slave cylinder, and cracked the bell housing! Plus, the Sniper seems to have sprung a leak, and won't idle worth s***. Oh well! We still have 8 days to make it right, or do panic maintenance on the trusty Blue Oval that we used the first time we came to Ouray!
