There’s more than 1 way to plug a hole. At least he didn’t jamb a hunk of wood jammed in there and termites built a colony.

The wood part yes. Around here we have a termite problem, so it wouldn’t surprise me.

All with bare hand power. If you get 12 inches away you can see the imperfections. They still look pretty good even at that distance.

Developed a really loud squeak that seems to be tied to the tires rotating. I think it’s the driveshaft. Since the U joints may be 40 years old and I have to change the pinion seals front and back anyway, I pulled the rear shaft.

It’s not the u joints on the rear shaft, lol. So, I lubed the 2 u joints that had zerk fittings, I’ll pick up a zerk for the last of the 3 u joints. It’ll be the best lubed shaft on a CJ.

Is there a pinion seal brand that’s better than others? I’d rather not pull it apart more than once.

My suggestion is a generous use of Indian head shellack before you install the pinion seal, make darn sure there isnt a burr or all will be for nothing.

Looking good from a distance applies to both my women and my CJs. 😅

So happy I replaced my old POS Mexican starter with a Powermaster. My CJ5 finally starts like it should without any fuss. Bought this one for $75 from a guy on eBay. Somebody had tried to mount it, but it didn't fit, so I got it for a steal. Worth every penny. 👍

I like power Master I have one of their high torque mini starters on my firebird with a 462 Edition ci in it

Interesting how especially the back side window area has an overhang extending out over the window like a house does. Mine ( mid1990s B Top ) for a CJ7 doesn’t. Is that side back window removable ? Mine is not. Does look good.

All the Perspex windows are removable via zips. The door tops are removable leaving half doors, or take off doors completely via hook hinges.

Returned from 3 days of wheeling in Arkansas with about 15 variously modified Scramblers. Great trip and mine worked very well 5 days of driving there, wheeling and getting home. IMG_0537.webp
