Wife, youngest son & I went wheeling today.
Hackett Gulch trail, which is west of Colorado Springs. Nice trail and added bonus are 2 streams to fly fish for brookies and browns.
Escaped the heat too.
I've been working on fixing several issues related to neglect by the previous owner. The steering was vague to say the least. Worn steering shaft joints, worn steering box, and leaf spring bushings that let the axle move side to side.
It didn't help that the steering stabilizer mount sandwiched between the spring and the axle and kept the driver side spring pin from seating in the spring perch, so the axle wasn't even aligned properly.
I did ball joints, wheel bearings, and tie rod ends last month when I refurbished the axles.
It's a good opportunity to swap out the Rough Country springs for Skyjacker while I'm replacing bushings. There may be better springs than Skyjacker but anything is better than Rough Country. And they were on sale.
I have a different stabilizer on the way and took out the mount for the other one. So the axle is now exactly where it should be.
I still need to get a lot back together, but it's hot in the afternoon so progress is a little slow.

I had to deal with more DSPO (Dip "Stick" Previous Owner) issues with the swaybar end links. They had pitched the OEM pins and used under size bolts. I ordered some replacements and got all the bushings replaced. I torqued the springs and the pitman arm. I ended up using a ratchet strap on the pitman arm so I put less stress on the gear box and the tie rod ends. And my torque wrench goes up to 250 ft-lb so it handled the 185 I needed just fine.
I still have a bit more to do to finish it all but I may have it on the road this weekend.

Love your "Organized Chaos" in your Shop !!!
Don't feel like the Lone Ranger !
I keep trying to find a couple 3-4 days to "REALLY" Put Things away and Where they Belong instead of "Building Pile Areas" to be Sorted sometime later.
I can spend an hour looking for some parts I need that have been Relocated Several times instead of putting them away the first time.

My ‘73 CJ5 was probably never cleaned by its previous owners. Not only that, it sat first in a field in Oklahoma for 20 odd years, and then outdoors in southern Colorado for another extended period of time. The engine, engine bay, and drivetrain were particularly dirty. I recently cleaned and painted the engine, Transmission , and Transfer Case in my 58 FC-170, so I am practiced at the art of cleaning up these things without removing the engine. As for the CJ, I removed all the components from the engine and engine bay, and then cleaned the block, masked it off, and painted it with aerosol primer followed by paint. So that’s what “I did for my Jeep today”, although it’s taken rather more than one day. Actually, today I got the engine mounts, temp and oil senders, fuel pump, and distributor in, all except for the distributor hold-down
CJ7 Reman 258, Np435, twin stick 300 dana, Currie 44's both ends with DetroitTrac both ends and chrome moly 35 spline shafts, Maxis Razor 33;s Gps based speedo.
I will drive it to get groceries, no doors on not that I will cool off when its 95 degrees, planning to re thread one bolt hole for the thermostat housing, still drips green but a much slower rate. Cleaned the foam prefilter, gathered supply's to change the oil and filter.
