This '76 CJ7 followed me home last week:rolleyes:, It's a companion to my '82 CJ7 that I keep in NJ, I'm sure I paid to much for it, just needed a project to keep me busy here in Fl. over the winter....my question...this tub appears not to be original to this Jeep, on the left side where the Jeep logo should be there's some bare metal showing that appears zinc coated, also no Jeep logo:confused: no evidence that it's a YJ tub, defrosters, tailgate, and fuel filler all CJ. Could this be an after marked CJ tub?

Thanks for any and all input:chug:

Usually you pay more for repair panels that have the Jeep model name stamped on it. So it could just be a cheap previous owner who did the body repair.

Looks like an aftermarket replacement tub to me.
No Jeep logo
Incorrect fuel filler cover, should be round for 76-77.

YES-Aftermarket 'tub'. Looks like it was nicely done!
Give us some details about this Jeep.

I'm thinking repaired panel. Look on the inside to see if it was repaired. Most people don't dress up the inside after a repair. Nice looking Jeep. You should have fun with it.

Shouldn't feed those strays and they won't follow you home!

Thanks to all for your replys, as you all know to well finding a "rust free" CJ is not easy, this guy comes pretty close.....the details.... rebuilt AMC 304 /3spd, aluminum intake, 4bbl, long tube headers dual flowmasters, msd ignition, rebuilt suspension inc. all new springs, bushings, and shocks, new gas tank and brakes, new top. Guy was asking 10K, not what I paid, what do you think?;)

sounds a lot better than my jeep.:chug: depending on what you paid not a bad deal. even at ten the guy wasn't out of line on price. not for a pretty clean body and all the goodies you mentioned already done. with the shape it's in what do you plan to do with it as "project"?
