What do you think about this '47?

All steel origianl body with some welded metal patches,no plastic filler, great frame, Chevy 153 four cylinder engine , 12 volt system,stock 4x4 driveline . Original seats with decent covers Everything mechanical new and or rebuilt,no junk. Original under dash heater. Everything works as it should Weathered finish patina ,scratches and a few dings. Roll bar and bikini top installed ...You can drive it anywhere at 50 MPH. Correct frame and body ID plates. Currently licensed and insured in my name and in a heated garage.

google indicates the motor is likely out of a postal jeep, take that for whatever you want, otherwise i like it but im a fool for a flattie thats not a rust bucket, however ill be honest i would want a Dauntless Buick 225 V6 in that thing so bad you'd have to shoot me to stop it from happening.

I'm told that the engine came out of a Chevy Nova.

wiki indicates the same motor was used in novas and postals so its viable, that motor was the base model for the nova until the 253 chevy i6 took over that spot.

How old is the pic? Do you have any recent ones of the rollbar installed? What condition are the hat channels? What tranny? Do you have pics of the engine compartment, frame, tub floors? Do all gauges work, lights & wipers?

Thanks for taking the time to consider my request for opinions.

The hat channels are like new, there's a T-90 and the axles seem to be the originals. All the gauges, lights and electrical components work flawlessly.
I had a chance to drive it today, and even the steering and brakes seem perfect.

That's one cute little flatty! Like Torx said better not wait.the 153 chev is a great little motor and they didn't cut a hole in the hood for the air cleaner like 99% of them did.Looks like a really nice installation.
Put a Warn Overdrive behind the D-18 and your motoring.The little chev shoud have enough power to cruise on the flat no problem. Used O-drives available or new Saturn from Advance Adaptors.I have a Saturn in my '69

Thanks for posting additional pics and info. It looks to be in good condition for the year, a plus is the tight steering and good running drivetrain. Looks to be a good purchase at the right price.

A couple things I would check/ask about. I would check to see if the frame vin tag is there, it can be located on the drivers side frame horn out board side, mounted with drive rivets. It's not a big deal if it's not there but would be nice if it was.

I'd check the replacement springs part # for spring length as well, again not a big deal but the shackles are kicked out a bit (front in first pic) (rear in last pic). What you have is aftermarket lift springs with stock shackles, may need to go a shade longer.

I don't know that I've read any thread on any internet forum where all of the opinions were in agreement as much as yours are.

I've had trouble sleeping since the first time I saw pictures of it.

I'm taking another look at it tomorrow.

Maybe it will follow me home.
