So take a look at this and tell me what you think? Two Jeeps for $3500. The drivable one pictured is an automatic and might have the Dana 44 in the back. The second jeep is a scrap heap with a good drive train. I was thinking offering him up $2800 for both. I want to put my good parts on the 7 for a wheeling vehicle and pull that awful body lift off of the one for sale.

I don't know Kane. The idea of buying someone else's "project" Jeeps (plural) and trying to make them in to one good usable rig always sounds kind of scary. The black one (the one with 5 INCHES OF BODY LIFT 9.webp !!! and a Weber carb that doesn't run right) looks like it's in good shape for a NE vehicle. I would want to look at them, see what's what, but I don't think I'd offer more than $3K for both.

I like the way he just went out and bought a running tj after screwing up the CJ.:o

Might be worth it, Have to see it in person to be sure. But you know that.;)

sounds to me like some problems he is trying to get rid of
If you know Jeeps you could get a deal, if mot you might get problems.
5 inches of body lift sounds like a shear off problem waithing to happen

Damn lk won't open for me. Is this the one over Enfield way?? If it is, I thought the body looked pretty good from the pik.....but we all know how that goes...

I talked to him on the phone and he is clueless about old CJ's and only owned this for 6 months. He doesn't know how to fix carbs or tune them so he went the easy way out and bought a running TJ. He is a "let a garage install the lift for him" kind of guy. I am checking this out today after noon sometime. I know what to look for and I don't care about the body lift. Hell it will give me more room to look over the body condition.

What a pile of junk. I told him flat out no and his is asking too much. I let him know that it will be a hard sell without it being able to start. Motor wont run, model 20 rear, 2.73 gears, completely rotted body, completely, everything is hemorrhaging fluids, top is hammered. The best things were the wheels, tires and the springs were nice. Oh it only had a typical 3 inch body lift. dont no how he thought it was a 5 inch.

Really shows the worth of an up close, personal inspection before you buy.
The pics look deceivingly good. Turns out it's a pile. Who'da thunk it.

Remember what P.T. Barnum said. “There is a sucker born every minute”.
Apparently the guy trying to sell them bought them not too long ago. It’s been more than a minute.
