Hey guys. New here. Thinking about buying this old CJ7 Renegade as a project to mess around with, but I can't tell what kind of engine is in it. All I can see in the image is "25"(didn't see a decimal) so I was wondering if that is "2.5"(4 cylinder?) or "AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l "(Inline 6?)?

Thanks for any input.

Yep, it'a a AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l inline 6 with an after market cast alum. valve cover, an Offenhauser 4 bbl. intake and a Holley 4 bbl. carb. None of which was standard.

Good score for $700 :chug:

wow you got all that from the pic? thats awesome!
considering you can see the numbers 25 on the cast valve cover
read the name Offenhauser on the intake
and recognize a Holly from it's distinctive shape.
not really
