I replaced the steering column recently, and the previous owner had all wiring routed away from the steering column. What goes in the attached(Located at the steering column close to the fire wall.

I think that would have to be the ignition switch.:D

Hmm. I'm gonna have to look there and see if mine is still there. Might've come out while mudding...

Thanks for the article reference "Jeep CJ Steering Column Swap."
That should be what I need, and yes it is the ignition plug.
Follow up question... is it a single plug, or 2-3 smaller female ones that plug in?

I'm struggling because most of the wiring has been modified or removed.
Thank you for any/all comments and suggestions.

Not if your Cj still starts it didnt. :D

That's the thing... It doesn't! I need to arc the solenoid.

I am pretty sure that it is two plugs. I am also sure this is a project you want the dash off for.:D

I actually do have the dash off at this time and have good access and visibility to all wires.

The PO routed the ignition to a keyed switch on the dash. I want to put things back to stock and use the ignition switch on the column that I installed.

Any pics / articles on what the wire config and plug(s) look like?

Thanks for the help.

Jeep CJ Steering Column Swap

In this article there is a pic of the plug.. its marked old plug and new plug on the left of the pic. They are 2 plugs that fir together like a jigsaw. One black and one white. If your missing the plug I believe you can purchase them at advance or discount auto.

Or here is a replacemetn kit from painless..
Painless Performance: GM Conversion Kit

Its 40 some dollars but will give you the proper plugs and terminal ends. IF your colum and dash wiring has been hacked up this might be a good way to go.

Oh if you dont weant to go that route I have a few wiring harness at the house I could cut the plugs off and send em to you for the cost of shipping. Or they were used on most gm cars so you should be able to go to the yard and cut one out.
