Ok let look at this, stock AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l 2bbl. is 196 ft. lbs @ 2000 rpms, stock 350 2bbl. was 250 ft. lbs. @ 2200 rpms. :confused:

Sorry for the high jack.

I know what the published numbers say from one engine to the other but the paper numbers don’t always translate to actual conditions. When in granny low and grunting along just above engine stall the SBC peak torque at 2200 RPM isn’t what I’m looking for; I’ll take the I6 as that is where it shines. Now blasting through the mud….. I'm going for an AMC V8.
 
yea as you know (you've been here awhile) that happens around here sometimes.
