What's the deal with these Mirrors?

Note where the steering wheel is. Now listen to yourself speak.. "I saw several of those on a BRITISH SHOW." The U.S.A. traditional sidemarker light is replaced with an emblem to fill the the sidemarker hole.

But it's in Bedford NH. I saw those several years ago on a Jeep rebuilt on the British show "Wheeler Dealers". Liked hem then. I've noticed the equipement on the front of my CJ begins to block the turn signals, these lights would help.

Those mirrors & Lights are not RHD Overseas, just Export, everywhere but Us & Canada, Japan different lights. The best bet to find some would be Brazil then Mexico, N.A.F.T.A..

The more I think about having rear views that actually showed you what you wanted to see, interest me. I have some 3/4" stainless tube but I am thinking that 1/2" may be a better choice for a tighter radius and less wind resistance (whistling). The mirrors on the first are different from the ones in the parts brake down. I like the second ones better, it will allow me to reuse the current mirrors.

The drivers side needs to be completely visible through the window in the door and the passenger side needs to be long enough and high enough to allow a full through through the windshield and out far enough to not see part of the windshield frame in the mirror.


If your going to have to cut holes for the lights I think getting something similar but easier to find replacements for. there must be a car with lights close to these and found in great numbers in PYPs all over the country.

they do look pretty good but I am torn by the Wrangler influance on the appearance.

I mounted LED blinker and running lights on the front bumper, the ones on the grill are largely obstructed.

Not sure I understand all of the vibration and shaking part. Is it your Jeep or the mirror itself?

I use the OEMs like LG and don't have any issue. I use them fine along with the rear view mirror even at 65-70mph.

Petescj - "Listen to yourself speak." ........ I wasn't disputing the fact that they were on overseas models. The referance to seeing them on a British show was supposed to be a supporting statement not in any way a doubt about the information provided. Honestly I didn't notice the drivers position. The whole reason for the post was to find out if the lights were available somewhere after market or somewhere on the web. So, I guess I did listen to myself..........

Yep, a quick search came up with nothing for the lights. I wonder how hard it would be to take the stock lights and french'em in with a can to seal the back from fender splash. Hmmmm, might be doable.

I think the fender lights are a PITA. the side of the fender is an awful place for a light and I have to think that the front surface would be even worse. The light should be on the flat surface on the fender just a little in front of the fire wall just over the Jeep on the fender. All the wire and obstruction are out of harms way. I would think that lights on the front of the fender would be a great place to catch water or even mud. And of course the occasional branch or clod of dirt/mud.

No real disagreement there. But a few nights ago I was working around the CJ at night with the hazards on and noticed that from the front they were not as easily seen as they could be. This made me remember the lights on the exported Jeep I saw on "Wheeler Dealers". Then this thread popped up. It is odd how often that sort of thing happens.

Vibration is because the aftermarket mirrors are a lot lighter weight than the original factory mirrors.

Find some original mirrors, or you might even been able to fill the tubing with something that will add a little weight than might dampen the vibration.

If you have a winch or other "stuff" blocking your factory turn signals, you could always get some SE "ish" turn signal lights like the ones that came with the dealer installed early Warn/ Jeep SE 8274's......

My winch seems to clear and my spot lights seem to clear. Unfortunately the two together, they don't exactly hide the lights, they dim the over all effectiveness of the lights

You can go Euro... RHD style... mirrors are much better, but they are hard to come by, took me a few months to source them as they were OEM to the rig.

Yes it is for sale, just seeing if there was any interest.
I drive it pretty much every other day and it is a fun toy, but it really needs a full restoration and I will do it if it does not sell.

I basically am at capacity at the moment and want to get to some of the other projects that I have and eventually get back into the builds for my kids, so I would like to see someone enjoy it if they have a desire for a unique Jeep.

If not, I keep it, I have had some kickers, but nothing serious.
