The P.O. had home fabricated some equalizer bars that didn’t work out too well so I went on the hunt for some. It feels like I’ve looked to the ends of the Internet and back for an equalizer bar and spring to make the parking brake to work on my ‘76 CJ5 with no luck. All of the major websites and drop shippers showed the omix brand one to be out of stock or “unknown availability” so i decided to try these made for a Ford :

They fit perfectly!

I don’t see why they won’t work, but I haven’t been able to test them yet. I’m still waiting on the u-clips that pin the actual cables to the brackets on the frame. I hope this helps someone!

Is that the Omix # 16751.05 or OEM # ‎937966? It appears to be available in Mumbai:

That is a discontinued part number. No wonder the PO made a homemade replacement. Seems if done right from the correct material, should work OK. But also seems any vehicle with 11" drum brakes should have basically the same part. Your choice of a Ford part is probably better than getting one from Mumbai :)

Here's a set on Amazon readily available: Ford 9" Rear End with 11" Drum Brakes

Yes! That’s the omix part i was referring to.

The homemade bar that was in there had came loose and lodged itself between the drum and wheel cylinder, ruining both.
