I am replacing the rotors on my Jeep. The front axle is a Dana 44 with the drum attached to the hub (through the wheel studs/lugs). I have Warn manual locking hubs. My hubs/rotors are 8 lug. I have the rotors, calipers, and new brake pads already.

In taking apart the hub, for removal of the rotor, I would like to replace all of these parts...or at least the ones that need it/usually wear out.

My question is, is there a repair/refresh kit for the seals? I can't seem to find a kit but only find different parts separately. Thank you for any information you can provide. I have no idea what year these axles are or what vehicle they came off of. Looking up an '80 model K20 pickup has been the closest I can find.

I have a Dana 30 up front and just worked on it a couple months ago. It didn’t have just 1 kit. There was like 2 - 3 smaller ones. Seals were in one. Another had new nuts and washers for front wheel bearings. Then there were other parts that were still good and didn’t need replacing. So probably not just one.

Thank you. I'm surprised they don't make a kit for all of it.

Does anyone know if it matters what vehicle it came out of? Online they have bearings and seals for a Bronco, Ford, Chevy, and Dodge.

Spicer Axles are stamped with a manufacturing date and a Bill of Materials number. Using these you can determine what year and vehicle your axle originally came out of - and thereby what parts to seek.

The following is copied from a Spicer PDF file I downloaded from one of these "Jeep groups", not sure which one. You can probably search Dana Spicer Axle and find a source. or PM me and I can possibly email to you ( there are three booklets depending on year - so identify year first if possible).

"[How To Identify A Spicer Axle
All Spicer Carrier Type axles are identified with a manufacturing date (1) and Bill of Material number (2)
stamped on the right or left hand tube on driving axles. The Bill of Material number may also be found on the
carrier in some models as shown in illustration (2A). For independent front suspension (IFS) axles, the B/M
number may be located at one of three locations: 1). A vertically positioned tag near the center of the right
hand side support arm, 2) stamped into the left hand side support arm (opposite end of the camber adjuster),
or 3) stamped into the "nose end" of the axle carrier. The location of the information will depend on the manufacturing
date of the axle.
The axle model number will be cast into one of the webs as shown (3), or it can be on the nose.
Each axle contains a gear ratio tag (4), and if the axle is equipped with a Limited slip differential, it will have a
tag specifying the type of Limited slip lubricant to be used (5).
Refer to the appropriate model number section for parts identification and a breakdown of the Bill of Material.]"

Note:
The PDF won't let me copy the drawing but the numbers you're after are stamped into the axle tube. Mine are on the horizontal plane to the right side of the inspection cover. Using this information I found mine with 8 bolt hubs were originally out of a 1973 International 3/4 ton PU.

Hope this helps, Good Luck.
