First post, please be gentle.

With my son going off to the west coast for college, I am now in possession of the CJ7 I got for him years ago.

While sorting everything to make sure it will pass inspection, I came across some terminals that look like they should plug into something, but I can't find anything under the dash that looks like a mate. I have a Chiltons and a Haynes, but I'm really bad at reading wire schematics.

The 3Wire disappears into the loom. Right now typing this I can't be sure, but I think the next connection upstream from the 2Wire plugged in to something on the top side of the steering column.

(Cont'd below)

The 4Wire plug is attached to the light switch and some of it goes into the loom.

I found the two prong relay(?) under the dash not plugged into anything, but just sitting on the wires. In case you can't tell from the pictures, the top of it is ink stamped with 4DB and the metal is stamped 'GTE' and '45A-12V'. I'm figuring GTE is the brand and obviously 45 amps and 12 volts.

Any help would be mighty appreciated.

The silver GTE piece is a breaker rated at 45 amps and 12 volts. It works just like the breakers in your home, except it resets its self. 45 amps is a lot, and should only be used for major electrical componets that pull a lot of juice, like starter, horn, etc. Not sure about where you connector goes. Keep in mind when doing electrical the factory didnt make a seperate harness for every single option on every single jeep. They made a generic harness and if you wanted an option they would just plug it in. So under the dash you should find the plugs and wiring for your optional fog lights. they will be open sockets. I know the fog light wiring is a common whats this post for under dash electrical. The silver thing looks like a breaker.. only thing tha tseems diddferent is the 4db on it.. I wonder if that the stupid "keys in the ignition buzzer" that makes the buzz at 4decibels.. Id try hooking a hot and ground wire to it and see if it buzzes.

Your Horn has a relays.. black box with 2 or 3 wires going to it.. its probalbly tucked under your dash. IF you want to see where it is unhook the horn under the hood then push the horn button.. you should here the relay click over..

If the 4 wire plug is hooked to the head light switch id put money on it being for the fog light option.. unless you have a working set of fog lights.
Not every thing need to be connected.

I snapped a photo of the device plugged into the 4-wire plug on my jeep. The part is stock from the factory as I haven't ever changed it.

I hope this helps.

Thanks for the responses. To be honest I really didn't think about the one-size-fits-all wiring harness; makes sense I know that's how the wiring harness is on one of my bikes. Since I don't need the extra plugs at this time, I'll just tape them off and tuck them away. As far as the GTE box, I'll test the buzz box theory and go digging to see if there is somewhere for it to plug in tomorrow.

Id throw a set of jumper wires on it to see if it buzzes.

The 2 wire plug in the first picture in the first post looks like the brake switch plug. The wires should lead to the brake switch on the top of the brake pedal arm. You have to be a contortionist to see it.
