I need to rotate the distributor but do not know where to place my hand on it to rotate it without getting shocked. New wide adapter with wide cap along with the NAPA wires mentioned in the TEAM RUSH discussion.

Thanks in advance!

pretty much any part of the distributor will work. just don't unhook a wire and place your hand on the tower.

anyplace that doesn't bite!

Just grab the base (around the cylinder) and rotate it. It will move pretty easy with the set-bolt loosened.

Im always more worried about the damn engine belts and fan whirling in my face then I am the electricity....:(

Edit: Oh wait...inline 6. The dizzy will be out of the way of all that mayhem I mentioned :D

I turn it by the vacuum advance

Grab the center wire and spin it with that! Just kidding, please don't do that.
I always use the vacuum advance also. You don't have to turn it much and that gives you a sort of lever to be able to move it gently and smoothly.

i would wear a glove. ha ha:D

I use the vacuume advance.
On a side not though, it always fills my heart with joy when I see someone else get zapped.:D

I once had a timing light with a conductive handle. When you disconnected the battery clamp you would be pretty much wired in to the no 1 plug. every time it came around it would cause you to leave the ground. It was great fun to watch but when you were holding it , not so much.:D
