Which carb? 2100 or 2150 and where to buy.

I have a 1985 CJ7 with AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l with Holley 2bb that floods out on steep inclines. Want to go to a motorcraft 2150 but need a reliable place to buy. Do you guys have a reputable vendor you deal with?

I bought a reman'd 2100 for my 360 from Summit Racing for under $200. That was several years ago (7-8 I think) but worth a shot.

And FWIW, my cousin and brother both have 1.08 MC2100s on their 258s and they run great.

Iv bought three from the eBay guy/Gronk. Iv had nothing but good luck, but some have had issues.

When I first got my CJ there were issues stalling going up steep gravel hills. Although my '86 still had the oem BBD carb. I got a lot of help by installing lower gears, lockers and lowering tire air pressure. I was able to keep the engine speed up enough to prevent most stalling, plus more torque to the ground. Adding fuel injection completely resolved the issue.

i run a 2100 on my AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l in my 85 cj as well as put them on other jeeps for ppl. i buy mine from junk yards, carlisle and other swap meets as well as ebay rebuild kits run about 20 bucks or so from advance and other parts stores. it takes about 2 hours or so to rebuild one they are really simple and not much to them. i usually pay 5-10 bucks a piece for a core 2100 at swap meets and pick a part yards
