I got a clutch kit today and went home to install it on my 75 CJ5 . There were three pilot bushings in the box. One obviously won't work, it is two small to fit over the Transmission shaft. So one of the other two is the same length as the one that came out, but several hundredths of an inch larger in diameter. It just flat is not going to drive in. The other one is just a little shorter than the one that came out, but it is the same diameter as the one that came out. So tomorrow I'm thinking of installing the shorter one because it seems to be the only one that will fit. Anybody experience something like this before? Another thing, how do you get that bushing driven in there? I don't want to hit it with a metal hammer. I'm afraid of deforming it. My lead hammer is not really doing the job.
