To weld nuts inside a tube frame?

So, what ways have you guys found to unstick/destroy and repair nuts that are no longer welded inside the frame? Trying to get belly pan off and at least 1 nut is just spinning in the frame. No way to get to it (and bolt head is stripped) without cutting it off or opening the frame which I don't want to do.

I just cut a hole in the side, got the bad nut out, welded new one in, fixed hole. One would never know I did anything.

That was my plan. Already had to cut one holeView attachment 13474
Ugly yes but I'll clean it. Just hoped there was an easier way. Not a ton of room for grinder where I need to cut

From the inside MAYBE. Would have to look. This one probably, but the other side one is in the middle of the pan so almost impossible to get at

I would cut the head off the bolt and take the whole mess out.

Already cut heads off. Now to get new ones in...

Maybe you can weld the bolt head to the frame and put a nut on the bottom.

I would still have to get into the frame to weld either the head or the nut

is there another option around all of this?

like taping the frame with threads? (well you would have to fill in the hole and kinda start over) but if that's possible, would it be feezable, or even reliable?

excuse my ignorance.

Rivnut makes structural strength threaded inserts... installs like blind rivets. Very handy to have around.

cut bolt, use 3/4" hole saw to make the hole bigger in the bottom of the frame where nut is (not on the side of the frame like u done on your shackle mount) use a thick washer (close to the thickness of the frame) weld new nut to washer and weld washer with nut welded to it to the frame where u drilled 3/4" hole may have to do some wallowing on the hole in skid-plate but some rough measuring should be close enough.
