Will 60s/70s GM wing window cranks work on my '79 CJ7?

- 1979 CJ7 Renegade, 304cid, MC 2150 Carb, TH400 tranny, Dana 300 twin stick, Dana 44 front w/lock right, Dana 44 rear w/truetrack locker, 33x12.5 Goodrich's, Warn 8k, onboard air, Motorcraft TFI ignition upgrade, WipeBoy wiper upgrade, Painless wiring harness, backup lamps, Driving lamps, YJ brake booster and MC upgrade swap, Rear tow hitch
I thought I read somewhere that the wing window cranks from 1960s & 70s GM vehicles would fit on CJs; that the splines were a perfect match.
I have an interference problem with my full roll cage and the stock Jeep window cranks. The PO just cut off the knob.
Any fellow Jeep owner out there successfully installed these short GM cranks?
