I have an 86 CJ7 . I am having problems with the drivers side wiper "slapping" & getting stuck. It is slapping so hard it is causing the nut on the motor that connects the arm to the linkage to come off. If the blade is bumped, it continues to work right. It seems to work ok without the wipers attached. If both blades are on, the motor is seems to bog down & gets very hot.

Any suggestions. Very

Do you know how to access the wiper linkage? There are two oval access covers on the bottom inside if the windsheild frame, I would look to see if the linkage is worn out or ?

When you say it is slapping do you mean it is hitting the w/s rubber on one side or the other? If so you have the arm on to low or to high and its getting hung up on the gasget. Try taking it off and moving it so it does not hit the rubber. Bust way to do this is take both arms off and run the wipers then shut them off and install the arms just above the rubber.
