Wolverines!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wolverines!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Jeep CJ 7 Wolverine | eBay

Was there really a Red Dawn edition of the CJ? I had read that Chrysler made a tomb raider edition TJ so I would think that the idea wouldn't be too far fetched.

Or did someone just get some WOLVERINE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Decals made and stick them on there.
I am the owner of a CJ7 Wolverine 1980 with the 4 cyl GM 151 ci motor and 4spd Transmission . I purchased this vehicle from a guy from Butte, Montana. He explains that this was a regional edition of the CJ7 . They were intended to be props for the movie Red Dawn; however, he does not believe that they were ever used. The vehicle has a Monty White Ford Dealership of Butte decal on the driver's side . The vehicle is strong but not fast. I love to climb around in the Cascade mountains with it.

It must have been a Montana thing. By parents purchased one in 1980 that was a 1980. I know this because it was still the narrow track CJ7 . It was a Wolverine and was also black with the silver stickers and Chrome everywhere. It had everything that the Laredo had except it had a 151CID 4 cyc and a 4 speed. The one item that is have not noticed in other CJ's is the leather wrapped center console pad. It had the leather wrapped passenger side dash mounted grab bar. They ran a commercial on TV advertising it. As "Made for Montana", this was before made in MT was cool. I know it was only offered in this engine Transmission combo because my mom had to learn to drive a manual to drive it. They bought it in Great Falls, MT at Rice Motors on 10th ave South. That dealership is something else now, but was a Chevrolet/AMC dealer for years. We lived near Glacier Park and bought many vehicles from them. We moved to Helena and rolled it. It was a light roll and my father sold it to friend of mine that years later sold it to a buyer for a Jeep dealer in Laguna Hills, CA. They painted it red and cleaned it up and sold it. I have since tracked it down to Bakersfield, CA. I made a trip out there to speak to the owner about that Jeep and he said it was stolen years ago??? A friend in law enforcement looked up the VIN and it has never been reported as stolen??? I would love to have another to build as just a stock Jeep to toole around town in!
