You know you own a CJ when...

You know you own a CJ when...
When you find yourself standing at the parts counter trying to remember which parts are for your '75 and which parts are for the 82 Wagoneer engine you just installed .... ahhh lets see I need a clutch for a '75 Jeep CJ5 and '75 motor mounts and a fan clutch for a '82 Wagoneer, a fuel pump for a '75 AMC 304 V8 (they are different), motorcraft wires for an F-AMC 150 to fit on the D.U.I. Dist. and a GM ignition module ......... All the while the parts guy is looking at you like you lost your mind.

When: even before starting the list of parts needed ..... the guys at Autozone smile and ask how the Jeep is coming along

When you look at the floor board , and see the ground. :D

Hay, Hay, Hay, .......... I don't see the ground when in my Jeep, well except where the holes are. :)

When you have 2 legal pads full., one with a wish list the other with a need to do list. My wife just found my need to do list and freaked! Need to make :censored: sure she don't find the wish list!

When aged people come up to you and start a conversation about your jeep with " I remember when ...." P.S. I didnt say old !

When you pull into the parking lot at your local bar for meet and greet jeep nite and all the jku and tj drivers walk up and start looking at your jeep and nodding their head in approval and ask you to crank it up......

I hope to get my CJ to the point where people want to hear me start it. :-)

When: You find yourself using the term, "I hope" more frequently than most.

 The people at my Auto Zone don't even ask me what it's for anymore,
they just ask what part # I need.

I send Vicki quite a bit due to the way I work. She does a great job now since she has a couple years experience. :D Ive been going the part number route now as well. Now she tells them what they have in stock.

NAPA is usually more exspensive around here , and I dont care anymore. Best place to deal with hands down.

Back on track...

When you write your mileage on the fridge so you know when to get gas

And everyone knows not to erase it !!!!! :)

When you hop in your jeep, fire it up, take a big breath, and ask yourself whats gonna go wrong today?.................

Then you exhale , sit back , and enjoy the reason you bought it in the first place.

And it breaks later to give you a reality check. :D

When your wife complains, "All you ever do is work on that Jeep!" You respond with, "But this will be it for a while." You know "a while" is tomorrow.

You pull up in front your girlfriend’s house and her father says, “How do you ever expect to get a girl to go out with you in that thing?” Then 30 plus years later you still have a CJ, and the girl!

When you drive down the road at 45mph, ask yourself...Did I latch the hood down?...........Then BAM! you get your answer.......That sucked! once.....Only once.............

When you can look at a total rust bucket that doesnt run and see its inner beauty. :)
