You know you own a CJ when...
When most of your clothes are now work clothes instead of nice clothes.
Do not buy white anymore. Oregon where the rain water freezes every night, no snow in the valley this year, it all is going to the mid-west, have not had snow like it used to.

When: You realize that you alone might not be able to keep your favorite jeep shop in business.

almost all conversations end up talking about jeeps and your plans for mods, upgrades,etc..

I use red dry erase marker to write mileage at last fill up on inside of windshield. I also write 'hubs = in' (or out) so I remember.

Awesome. I keep it on paper in a book. But that is a better idea. Always visible. I thought about doing that right above the odometer, but did not think about the dry erase marker.

When: you go into a minor panic when the powder coating shop won't take a credit card. Errrrrr! Paper money, what's that? Well I guess I'll be finding out. :)

Hedgehog, that's was all we took for years, bad checks :censored: for everyone else, except for realy good and loyal customers.

When someone from last fall comes by again, and wants his T-90 rebuilt, asks so where are your Jeeps? I say in storage and he goes that`s right you had to move them, all but the 7 as I point across the fence. Anyway he has a CJ5 but the Transmission is from a Willys Wagon, and I told him to bring it by when he is ready.

When you post a CL add last fall and a old guy (Rusty) knocks on the door looking for the CL Jeep poster from last fall and then asks if I still work on Jeeps. And he wants his 1965 CJ5 Tuxedo Park Park worked on, so he can tow it behind his motor home. He has a Warn Dana 44 full float kit and wants it done. I tell him it has to be at his place because the town :censored: will not let us have a wrecking yard or work on jobs like that, and what the :censored: told us, and what I had to do with my lawn art/museum pieces as I point across the fence at my 7 in the neighbors side yard next to his :yj:. :patriot:

You do it right so you don't become a PO story or example.

you go help the wife literally load hundreds of cases of girl scout cookies just so you can run ten minutes down the road to pick up some new axles.

Whatever it takes. :D I Usually try to turn farther away Cj purchases into camping trips and the sort. Keeps the wife happy and I get parts plus a long weekend. I'm still trying to figure out what to do about my next purchase. It's in Brooklyn, rather large, and this is no where near camping weather.

Is it a CJ8 ? If so, she can shop and you can use the bed to hold all of the stuff bought in the city. Or a romantic horse-drawn carriage ride in Central Park.

Why yes it is a CJ8 . Luckily for me Vicki isn't a big time shopper. :chug: I believe they stopped the horse drawn carriage rides to. Some garbage about cruelty to animals. :(

Congrats on the 8. And those carriages make too much $$. They were running last year. I bet they are still running.

I had heard talk too about stopping the carriage rides even from out here in the West. Goodness knows we wouldn’t want a beast of burden being used for what God intended! I often wonder just what rock these people expect us all to live under? :notworthy:

“You know you own a CJ when you spend this much time on a BB on the same thread!” :chug:

Back on topic.......................

When you believe that a horse was created to pull a carriage because that is what they do best. When you think the best jeeps are the ones with dirt and dings on them because they are used for what they do best, not sitting in some mall parking lot with the latest catalog add on.

When: you remember jeeps were once used to pull hay wagons and had post hole drill rigs on the back and you knew how to use a manual choke AND manual throttle to start on a cold winters day. And it wasn't uncommon to see a jeep crawling along while folks loaded hay on the wagon, with nobody driving.

Yes, the ghost driver! I wouldn't trade my pull choke for the world [emoji106]I've got about 10 acres of field and I'd love to find an old drag behind mower for my jeep.
