You know you own a CJ when...
I occasionally see one maybe two a week here. All of a sudden they were like wild flowers popping up everywhere. A perfect CJ storm.

I think the warm weather brings them out. I have been seeing alot more nice ones latey.

I agree. I rarely see them after October or before July on the street. Most years it rains in Western Washington on 4th of July and starts to dry out shortly thereafter.

I saw this on the way to an appointment last Friday 17-Jun-2016

While I don't recall seeing it before, there aren't that many CJs on the roads around here.

Wow that's a nice 85 Spring Special. Don't understand the diamond plate though.

when your working half way across the world, and all you can think about is your 1981 CJ5 back home. :)

I didn't understand the diamond plate either.

I looked at the interior corners and didn't see any rust, but most of the cubic space behind the front seats was dedicated to two humongous speakers.

Behind the speakers was the soft top folded up and laying on what I figure must have been the soft doors.

Maybe someday the owner will join and all will be revealed.

Diamond plate came on mine, I am not a fan. Someday, after all the major projects are done and enough courage has built up the plate will come off and reveal the horrors of what is going on underneath.

If you don't like what you see - put smooth corners/panels back on.

and that's good for other states wanting those garaged CJ's.

... when this shows up in the mail

... and you're blown away on so many levels.

The penmanship astounded me. I knew it wasn't a font because of some deviations in letters - dot over the lower-case "i" is leading, then it's trailing, for example - and the writing style.

On the reverse side of this paper is "To current resident..." followed by my address.

The paper was folded neatly into a greeting-card sized envelope, stamped and addressed to my home with no return address (smart).

I redacted the email address for obvious reasons.

I replied to the email address, indicating that I'd no plans to sell, thanked the author for the kind words and the interest in the Jeep.

I also said that I'd keep the email address and drop a line if circumstances changed.

In the return email I was thanked for my timely response and I feel honored to have someone with that much elegance, sophistication (and good taste!!!) be interested in my Jeep!

When you get a note in the mail, that for a single man, due to the writing quality, the language used and the fact that it was written on kitchen shopping note paper just might be an opportunity for some serious social interaction.

Maybe he wants more than your CJ ;)

I'm thinkin' the note doesn't read like a "he" wrote it.
