When you sit at a stoplight and the guy with the 40k Jeep is turning his head as round as he goes by.. the

It's the world oldest conundrum, that i don't think anyone has answered properly. Why would somebody with tons of cash not spend it on a classic, unique vehicle that will earn him the admiration and respect of his peers, instead of buying the same 2016 XXXXX that everybody else has?? For 40k You could buy TWO CJ's in perfect/turn-key condition.

I had a guy at a gas station in Seattle ogle over my last CJ. He had a rock crawling rubicon worth tens of thousands, and all he was looking at was my CJ5 that was maybe worth 6 Grand.

When you pull a 36" stump out of the ground just to stretch a new winch cable.

Because most of those folks don't own a wrench, or want to learn how to use one.

When you can actually hear a new squeak over the other squeaks and whistles you have lived with for years, including seat springs and the wind noise from the mirror. Now something new to diagnose.

When you hear a new hard CLUNK in the rear and are relieved to find it's not coming from the differential, but a loose rock or part sliding around in the bed.

... when you see fluid under your Jeep and spend 10 minutes looking for the source, only to determine that it was there before you parked over someone else's spill.

 been there done that.

This comes in so handy when the passenger door flies open because it wasn't latched right. Just wait for it to swing back, reach over and close it. :D

I didn't have a defrost rag handy when on the way home from college (many years ago[emoji6]) my passenger door handle not only popped open, it blew up. Well, the screw just pulled out, but it sounded like it blew up. By the time I stopped, all door handle parts were gone. The only thing I could find to tie the door closed was an old pair of someone's underwear on the side of the road. I hoped the time spent in the weather had killed any latent germs, tied the door closed, and headed home. Yeah, I've never had to tie my wife's car door shut with underwear.........

When you can never find it in the parking lot, because even with a 4 inch lift, its still smaller then every Soccer-Mom SUV parked out there.

It rained hard last Saturday and I have only a bikini top on. This happened on the way home from work.....

When a on the freeway a Lexus driver sets his car up just right to have his front wheel splash go in your open door. To make it worse, due to traffic, is able to keep it up for about a mile. Errrrrrr, that's a lot of water.

Edit: Oddly enough I love this kind of weather........

When you have a folder on your phone dedicated to only pictures of other CJ's you run across. :D

When you jump for joy because all your stock gauges actually work, and are accurate!

...your kids tell you to do a burn out at the stop sign, you look back to see them turned around looking over the bench seat waiting to hear both tires whaling as the V8 revs up...:driving:

When: your Bikini top pops a strap on the interstate at 65 mph and without even giving it a second thought you reach up, grab the flopping top and stop it from flopping. Then notice a darned good looking woman who saw you do it catch your eye with a big "now that was cool" smile. ..... Like in "America Graffiti", I think I'm in love.

followed a couple of cops coming out of a store. They approach my jeep without doors or a top, which is parked up front, and surround it. Nervous as to the reason, I overhear one of them say, 'it would be awesome to patrol in this thing' and the other's smile and nod as they start to walk away.

Any vehicle that will make a Cop smile, chances are you'll never get a ticket! :D

I have lots of people that comment or talk to me when I drive my jeep, but if a police officer is ever near me at a light or stop they always talk to me.
Mostly just a nice jeep or looks great but occasionally enough to inquire about the year and more.....

When you find and fix a whining sound only to have it replaced by a different high pitched rattling/jangling sound.
My CJ7 was making a horrible screeching sound. I stopped by my mechanics shop. He popped the hood, listened for a second then reached inside and ejected my wife's Taylor Swift CD.

Driving the CJ home from wheeling and a guy in a Porsche stops and gives it a long appreciating stare and nod.
