Build Thread 1960 Resto Project

Build Thread 1960 Resto Project
Glad to hear about the job!!! I was beginning to miss this build. :chug:
Thanks Tarry, we need to build the savings account back up before the boss let's me order more parts. I will keep everyone updated when we get started again. :):)

Here are a few new pictures of the Jeep. I was able to get the hat channels tacked into place and all of the body mount lined up and bolted down. It's to bad the body must come back off to install the rear wheel wells and finish all of the welding and body work, but it's still moving forward.:popcorn:

I'll say it again, you are doing a really nice job! :notworthy:
Glad to hear you landed another job.

CJ update. Now that I am back to work I should be able to get my new rear wheel wells ordered in about two weeks, can't wait. I have been making up new front brake lines, found it much cheaper to buy straight brake line, bend and flare as needed so far working out very nice since I have all of the factory lines that were installed in 1960...no longer usable but work great for patterens. I will post some new pictures in a few days. :)

Update. It has been awhile since any work has been done on the CJ. I just ordered my new replacement wheelhouses, should have them in a few weeks and then get back to working on the CJ. Today I am going to check out the spot welder I have been waiting for, it's a Lencospot L-4000 this should really made installing the wheelhouses and the rest of the metal a breeze. I will post new pictures as soon as I get started. :)

I just go home with my new used spot welder... I had to try it out and it's COOL!!!!!

can I see pics of the handle/contacts? This rocks!!

This thread just got more interesting. Elevated to Large Popcorn status.:lpopcorn:

Here's a few pictures of the handles and tips, they make six different tips for this machine. I did get all six different tips from the guy I got it from. For $260.00 I could not pass it up.:):)

Pulled the CJ out of the basement today to see what I will need to get started on removing the rear wheelwells so I thought I get a few new pictures of this on going project. :D:cool:

Those wheelwells dont look that bad to me. Am I missing something? Do they look worse from the bottom? Are you just addicted to shiny clean sheetmetal now? :)

Your last statement would be correct. They are not that bad..pretty much the last half inch where they would get welded to the new rear floor is almost gone, I was going to cut off the last 1/2 inch and weld on a new piece but the new shiny ones are much nicer. :D:D

Got the two factory nuts removed from the old floor pan. One is for the rear seat leg and the other is for the gas tank strap. The new spot welder should work great to install these on the new rear floor pan.

This new spot welder works great!!! Spot welded the front gas tank strap nut to the floor and it is on to stay.
