Build Thread 1960 Resto Project

Build Thread 1960 Resto Project
You sir have the skill of a surgeon's hands and the memory of an elephant. The last thing I have to add is OUTSTANDING.

I t has been a few months since I have been able to work on the CJ. I have been working on my daughters new TJ, she just turned 16 and is ready to go driving. So the plan is for this weekend is to sandblast the body tub and get it into primer, thats only if it doesn't rain. I will post some pictures of the tub. :)

Here is the new TJ it's was a brithday present for my daughter that just turned 16.

Time for an update on the 1960 CJ. Pulled the tub back off to start the floor replacement. I was going to sandblast the tub first but I thought I would start removing the floors one side at a time then start doing the sandblasting. I will keep the pictures coming.

1960 update. Started to remove the old rusted out floor, it's going pretty good almost have it all removed one or two more braces and it will be all removed. Found out using a tiedown strap to keep the body square works really good. Should have a few of the new floor parts this week.

I have gone as far as I can with cutting out the old floor. The next step is going to be sandblast the area where I will be welding in the new floor pans and supports ( I hope they arrive soon ) The next step will be the rear floor as soon as I finish the front the back will be cut out and a brand new rear floor will be installed.

:)0822,

Ya know I had to go out in the shop , to look at my CJ5 to figure out what was left of the tool box and floor under the drivers seat that your saving.............obviously not much.

Keep up the good work.

I did not get the sand blaster woking, had a few problems so I thought it would be a good time to get the Transmission covers bolted back in so that everything is square, just about ready to start the welding process. I will keep the pictures coming. :)

I thought I would share a few better pictures. If all goes well I should have all of the metal work completed after Christmas. This will inculed a complete new rear floor and tail light panels. :)

:)0822,

If you have not already found these.........Here is a link to replace those 1/4x20 cage nuts that hold those floor panels in place.........you should already have a 3/8" square hole in your floors and firewall to accept a product like this.

Thanks Tarry99 I picked up a box a few weeks ago from a nut and bolt shop here in St.Louis, I didn't want to install them until all the metal and paint work was finished. Thanks for the tip.:)
