Hi all. While working on the old CJ, I found that the Transmission mount torque arm was missing one of the washers and rubber bushings. I believe I'm calling this the correct name. Anyway, I would like to purchase the entire kit...the new bolt, the nuts, the washers, and the rubber bushings. I have done some searching on the net but all I have been able to find is the bushings. Anyone know of where I might purchase these as a kit? Also, since its missing one of the large rubber bushings, what could I encounter in regards to noises or driveabilty?
Thanks :chug: Rick

From your description I think you are talking about the torque limiter (not sure if actual correct name, just what I call it) that attaches near the Transmission Mount.

You can get the engine & Transmission mount and torque limiter in a kit together for pretty cheap, may want to go that way...

Drivetrain Mount Kit (Engine, Transmission & Transfer Case) - 3186107K

Or

Crown Engine & Transmission Mount Kit (With 232 or 258 4.2L/6 Cylinder Engines) - 8128488K

Depending on engine you have, forgot to read...

or you can get individual parts if you want too:

stud: Transmission Mounting Stabilizer Stud - 5358879

bushings: Transmission Mounting Stabilizer Bushing 2 Needed - 945266 (youd need two)

or bushing kit from daystar: Daystar Torque Arm Bushings Black - DAY-KJ01001BK

remember if you buy from there (just first place I checked) you can use our 10% discount code listed on sponsors tab top of website

EDIT: I don't know that much about auto Transmission set ups... just noticed you had the T400 Transmission . Double check fitment, if these even look like they're similar. Post a picture if not, or maybe another Auto Transmission guy will pop in with better info... my bad...

Was still a great help JR. Thanks for the taking the time to post the links! :chug: Rick

OK, purchased the parts from Morris 4X4. When installing the new rubber bushings, washers, stud, nuts.....I have about 3/8 of an inch slop between the mount and rubber bushings. Per diagram, all parts are there. I need one of you QuadraTrac Guru's to jump in here and provide some guidence...... Thanks...Rick :chug:

Im not a QuadraTrac guy but I am pretty sure what you are describing is correct, it will allow the Transfer Case a small amount of movement(room for vibrations) and then limit it from moving to far

^^ Correct. Some people put washers on extra to tighten lightly, but it is allowed some torque twisting...

You could use a little really soft bushings / rubber etc and then ensure you've used lock tight on the nuts...

Gert, JR, thanks. I went ahead and installed per the diagram. When all slugged up, top bushing pulled down tightly to the Transfer Case metal mount that it bolts thru. By looking at it, it will limit most transfer/Transmission movement in forward gear, however, will allow for up to about 3/8's inch movement possibly in reverse.....tho I don't see that could ever happen with good engine and Transmission mounts, and I don't understand the design ....unless its a safety of some sort if other mounts were to fail. Anyway, its in :chug: Merry Christmas........Rick
