The jeep I just bought is my first. I am unfamiliar with the AMC engine but I do know it needs to have a vaccum signal to the advance unit on the distributor. The previous owner has eliminated all lines except crankcase vent to bottom of carb. It has the factory motocraft 2bbl. It runs very well and is very strong. Where should I get the vaccum signal from on the amc distributor? Ported at bottom of carb or manifold vaccum.

I was almost positive thats what I needed to do. But, all the other vaccum components are gone. There are no emissions stuff anymore. The distributor has a large white plastic deal where a normal vaccum advance pot would be. Any details on this gismo. I will get the line installed and recheck timing at idle and advance.
