Build Thread 1977 Cj7 Golden Eagle

Build Thread 1977 Cj7 Golden Eagle
the decals arent decals, its all hand painted lacquer paint:cool: from the PO, although its original color was white, the original color was oakleaf brown on the original 77 which was shot. ill be painting it this spring.

Oh I see, it's definately original.. cool Jeep.

Thanks, ur Jeep has the same exact drivetrain set up as mine, AMC 304 ,GM Turbo 400 and the qudratrac transcase. I must admit that's pretty cool

It is pretty cool... I hope it works well off-road too.. not sure how many people wheel with this set-up but I'm gonna try it for a while. Seems like most of the hard core wheelers use manual trannys and Dana 300 t-cases or whatever besides the Qtrac.. My goal is to go anywhere, anytime with my Jeep, and I wont mind going that route someday. I'd really rather add the low range to my Qtrac before going manual and then just beefing up the axles as I go. Anyway, back to yours.. what color did you say it was originally? Going to be fun stripping yours down to repaint it.. Hey do you have the under dash or cabin lights in yours? I found a wire loom section with these and was wondering if you could show a pic of yours if you have them. I think they mount right to the bottom lip of the dash panel, but I'm not sure. I do see where the plug into the rest of the harness, just not sure how they mount..

my old 77 which was shot was Oakleaf brown PC-7E
the body i have on it, that one was originally white. and i do not have a picture handy of those lights but i know they mount under the dash on the bottom lip via brackets, i do not know how they hook up, however they have to go to the light switch because if you turn the switch all the way counter-clockwise it will click, just for interior lights. and i plan on just running the GM Turbo 400 and QuadraTrac , my dad and i built it so its just a cruiser and light 4 wheeler. id love to keep it all original drivetrain wise.

**UPDATE** the woman with Jeep parts here in Avella PA is closing on her buildings in early FEB! if any parts are needed please PM me! if you cant make it out here in time tell me and i will hold the stuff for you so you can come out here to get it at a later time! the stuff she doesnt sell will be going MI with her in a uhaul truck. Get your parts while theyre still here!!

it has been a while but rebuilding this Jeep just keeps on going.. i just recently installed a rampage front winch bumper with a Smittybilt XRC8 winch. i still havent got her painted but she will be done by the Bantam Jeep Festival in August

Cool paint job. Very unique, colorful yet tasteful (if that makes sense) I like it!

well boys its been a while and the cj is at Washington Chevy. i stripped her all down.. fenders off new ones in the back, seats as well as wiring to the front clip.. instead of going with the Oakleaf brown i am going with its sister color Mocha Brown Metallic.. adds a little more pop... my aunt is the Body Shop manager and will keep me updated on how progress goes:D

well heres some pictures after only 3 days of being in the wash chevy body shop, i had to take the dash out, and the heater as well as everything else that could be taken off. i couldnt work today but my aunt said the front clip is going into primer.

Looks Great! Keep it up! I wish my floor pans would have looked as good as yours did when I started mine!!!

nice to see other Golden Eagle owners! btw I have some stock G.E. parts laying around if ya need anything let me know.

well as of friday, she has been painted brown, mocha brown metallic, not oakleaf haha. it looks extremely good

Man, you've come a long way on that since the last time I seen it! Keep up the great work, and get it back together!!:D

well the cj came home last week and im starting to put her back together, dash in, front end is wired up, and shes just gettin there...

yessir, she'll have em before the Bantam Jeep festival in august

I love the work you guys are putting in, my father and I are working on my 1980 CJ7 now. He had a 197? Golden Eagle when I was a kid and I loved it, though he tells me I used to ask if we could go to the lake in the "doo-doo Jeep" (obviously brownish) LOL. Your thread is my motivation, though it won't ever be as pretty, mine will be used for going to the lake, pulling my boat, fishing, and going to the beach.
