Beautiful !

wow dude that looks so good, I love the tags that just tops it off, for future reference do the rounding straps have a vehicle application to be able to search for them?

There's a great counter guy at my local oreillys auto parts. I had gone in looking for grounding straps but all they had were those help isle cheap ones. He looked through a catalog and ordered several based on lengths and gauge. I just picked out the ones that looked like they'd work best.

On the GND straps. May I suggest that you use external star washers, as they 'bite' into the metal for a better electrical contact.
Run a strap from the frame to the main tub also. ;)

LG

I do plan on running a couple more. I'll have dedicated grounds for the dash lights, twilight, and on the grille for the headlights.

Thanks for the suggestion on the star washers!!

Moving along a bit slow but I spent sometime working on nickel and dome things.

I picked up a set of ceramic headers by Patriot. The flange is 5/8 so that made my decision. The drivers side will need some work on the collector almost right away as it wants to hit the frame. Otherwise, they feel like a quality part plus the reviews on Summitt were good too.

Also, you'll see two different color header bolts. It seems the two center bolts are 3/8 and the outside 4 are 5/16. In told this is on the 360 and 401 heads only.

I pulled the intake to remove the rubber end gaskets and use "the right stuff" gasket maker on the ends with the valley pan. I wasn't able to get pictures of the valley pan since I was busy with shellac on the intake section and rtv on the coolant parts of the pan.

I picked up a set of ARP intake bolts to give it a cleaner look. I added the normal stuff too. A new heater hose outlet and few threaded plugs for unused parts of the intake along with a new temp sending unit.

Also got a new power steering pump. I ordered one for a Waggoner first, but the pump shaft is different along with the line for the pressure line. I have an Oring style steering gear so I just ordered a CJ pump from a 83-86. I used the pulley off of the old pump on the AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l that was in the Jeep. CJ lines worked well too.

I also added some dayco premium belts.

thats a good looking motor

I sure hope it runs as good as it looks! I bought from someone having already been rebuilt. All the right things seem to be done; assembly lube on the cam, oil pump packed with petroleum jelly, etc.

I made a few changes as I mentioned above but it looks to be done right. I sure hope so or my wife will be pissed if I have to rebuild it!

I'm in the same spot you are - but I did the work on it and put it back together..... I can't blame anyone other than myself if it doesn't run right. That's the only part that keeps me up at night....... specifically the intake / valley pan gasket - that thing was a major PITA.

I finally got the PCV valve and grommet sorted out today.

If anyone happens to use an edelbrock intake (part #2131) then these are good part numbers.

Also, I picked up an edelbrock carb but I'm waiting on a spacer.

I like the look of the Edelbrock carb. Plus it seems odd to me to have a Holley on an edelbrock intake.

Btw, that Holley Truck Avenger that was on there is up on eBay for $100!! Bid away!

I have a couple more things to sort out. I bought a factory coil bracket and throttle bracket off of eBay. I couldn't find an AMC motor locally at all, so I over payed...

I'm "out of the area" for some work the next few weeks doing what I do so nothing will be going on with the Jeep.

I'm out of town for some work but these came in my email today!!

A big thank you to The Toy Box Jeeps in Daytona Beach, Fl for the stellar body work and paint!
