I just picked up this 1983 CJ7 Renegade survivor in Dallas TX that has been in the Dallas area its entire life since originally sold at a Fort Worth TX dealership.
In good running condition with minimal surface rust and original Sebring Red paint with the Renegade orange decals.
I am working on sourcing the following OEM parts from donor vehicles to bring this classic Jeep back to stock condition:
-original White wagon wheel rims with OEM Jeep center caps
-high back black denim seats
-full hard doors
-black dash pad
-cowl vent and hood hinges
-T-5 Shifter handle (Threads broke off)
-uncut metal dash panel (radio and speaker holes cut on this one)
-black visors
-passenger windshield frame hinge
-chrome headlight bezels
I have built over 40 CJ-7 and CJ8 Scrambler Jeeps but I have not worked on one since 2003! This will be a father-son project with my teenage sons.
As a cool bonus factor to this Jeep, it is the same year and spec driven at the end of the 1984 movie, Terminator.
