Hi all. I have a 1985 CJ7 with a AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l taken out and an AMC360 ready to put in. I heard you needed new engine mounts and headers. Since I have no time for trial and error or fabricating my own as I have done in the past, can anyone tell me what I need to buy to get this to bolt right in?
Thank you in advance!

Brown dog, advance adpters and another company maybe novak make bolt in kits for the engine swap.. Simply bolt to the frame through all 6 holes on each side and bolt the new motor side mounts on.. Very high quality and good replacements from stock. As for headers a few companies make out of the frame headers that exit just in front of the frame and run down the side of the jeep. Or you can get a set of stock CJ7 exhaust manifolds and have a shop run a set of custom pipes.

Thanks for the lead. :)

The passenger side motor mount needs to be relocated but if you are carful while removing it from the frame it can be reused. Make sure to use the proper AMC 360 flywheel (not from the AMC I-6 or the AMC 304 /401, they do not interchange) as the engines are externally balanced. From there it all bolts up, bell housing, clutch etc. Inside the frame headers are available too.

Nice- so you are saying the drivers side bracket can stay on the frame, just move the passenger? I just ordered new 360 motor mounts.
I'm currently looking for an AMC 360 flywheel.
Any suggestions on where to look for inside frame headers?
Thanks!

Hedmann makes some of the best quality ones out there. Long tube design is the only version out there now, inside or outside frame. Forget about shorty headers, Edelbrock USED to make them, but since they got out of the exhaust market that door is closed.

Yep, the driver’s side motor mount is in the right spot.
