Wife's: Black 04' Liberty with all the bells and whistles.
Couple of quick questions I realized today while staring intently at my engine planning my head swap. Number one- how are you mounting your throttle cable? Mine has the cable with the bell crank mounted on the bottom of the cast iron intake.
Second question- How are you mounting your PS pump since the intake is raised slightly. I am running the V belt system.

If you are staying carb then keep your current intake. Solves question one.

Someone on another thread just dealt with the p.s. issue you should be able to find v it and pm them. But if it's just raised up, couldn't you just use a longer v belt?

i'm using the 4.0 header and a late carbed divorced intake. so the intake is aluminum and sets on top of the dowel pins.

PS bracket mod for a 4.0 head swap. First pic is stock bracket, you can see how much lower the intake holes sit. Second is the bracket with a piece of plate added to it and new hole drilled. Still needed a little trimming off the top. And a second hole drilled for the second intake bolt.

Thanks yellow85cj. The more I thought about it the more I realized I would need to do something similar.

Maybe a good excuse to go Weber or fuel injection? :D

Throttle cable problem solved!

My PS is on the passenger side. Alternator is lower on the drivers side and not connected the the intake.

is this normal on a 73 ?? Has to be one crazy long power steering hose and battery cable

naw... i'll stick with my MC2100. I can rebuild and tune those blindfolded.

73 CJ5s did not offer PS in a258 that I have ever seen. Could be wrong though.

My first setup came from a 76 hornet, brackets and all. Since replaced with AGR pump, shaft and steering box.

The manifold taped hole is a good P clamp mounting point.

Custom hoses from NAPA

I rigged my 2100 for direct pull using the Mr Gasket throttle cable bracket, flipped upside down, and a 80s Blazer throttle cable.

So is there a way to get the power steering pump mounted using the old bracket without welding / cutting on top of it? I thought from reading before the bracket needed to be cut not extended.
