If it is an obd1 91 to 95 then yes you don't need anything that isn't physically located in the engine compartment. Only exception is if you want to use the aw4 you need the controller located behind the glove box. And the connection running to it

It was a 97 I think it's a little to much for me to try it will probably coming your way soon

I haven't done an obd2 yet but maybe we can work out a discounted rate for r and d purposes

I'd think that for obd2 you'd need the diagnostic connector from under the dash.

Yea I have about 4 miles if wiring took complete dash out to get it all but it will be worth I till let you know when I'm ready to sen it your way

Re: 1986 CJ7 4.0 Motor Swap w/Pictures

Thanks for this, I just bought an 82 CJ7 , someone swapped a 4.0 into. They guy I got it from didn't have all the specifics but did say he was having fuel issues and he thought it was a 90-91 motor . I figure the pump isn't pushing enough, so I took the risk.
Do I've been doing my internet research and will start looking into the issue in the next few weeks.

Re: 1986 CJ7 4.0 Motor Swap w/Pictures

Thanks for doing the write up. I bought a friends 82 CJ7 from him. It was missing the Transmission and Transfer Case . i purchased used ones and was going to put it together but I decided to put a 4.0l in it and a nv3550 which was in the garage. I drop the 4.0l in to night. fits like a glove. i will be using the air box like yours. 97 cherokee wiring harness.
So I want to use a mechanical fan but I was looking at the off set of the engine after we got it in, big question.
I also was going to use a hydrological clutch from my 2001 wrangler, spare parts in the garage.
Thanks for all the tips.
I will read it again, on your fuel pump set up.
