4.2 motor build

4.2 motor build
Sorry this has taken so long on this build guys. Another update. I've put a few miles on this motor now ( not a bunch yet ) but she runs great! All I can say is I'm in love with it. I tried to upload a Video of it running but it won't let me.

Just glad to hear its up and running. :chug:

It worked for me :D

Installing a new water temp gauge today. My factory one doesn't work anymore.

Thought this was time to bring this thread back alive. I've been having problems with idling when cold but when warmed up runs but has a miss. ( will run smooth then miss found a vac leak helped but didn't fix. ) ordered a hei for it will be in next week.

Choke adjustment is needed.
See if any info here might help.

LG I'm running a howell fuel injection. No choke adjustment required :-)

:o Yup, you is :o
What's the cold engine issue?

I have a similar issue with my Howell system, where the "Open Loop" at startup runs quite rich. I would think the only way to change this would be at the computer chip. Fortunately it does not last long and I just deal with it. I would think where Coldair lives it would be less noticeable. If we both have the same issue. A call to the Howell customer service could be of assistance.

I had howell burn me a new chip when I built this motor. Told them everything that was done to it. Cost $110 for the chip

Ouch! But is it running rich or just has a miss. Things that can cause an ignition miss are a bad icm or distributor pick up coil along with the usual tune up items.

Finally Coldair is back! :booze:

Don't worry it will be warm on the Rubicon this summer when you come down to run it with us.

Lumpy and Torx will be there too right guys?

lol

Hopefully the new HEI will help out. Didn't you say the old dizzy had a bent / warped shaft?
