Hi guys new here and just wanted to pass some info on that may help somebody. I have had a 77 CJ5 for a while and have made some upgrades and repairs to make it better since it's my daily ride. This thread pertains to my heater upgrade. I searched for a while and could only really find info on the 78 and up CJ's. As you guys know you use a standard gm blower motor and cage for these jeeps. The problem with 77 and back is that blower motor would spin the wrong direction. So I thought I was sol. So I work at a parts store and got out our parts books to seem if they made a motor that was the same as the common GM one but spun backwards. Well I found one the number is 35337. This one is the standard gm but spins the opposite direction. I cut out the mounting plate so the motor would drop in. Then I made a spacer out of 3/4 plywood and bolted this between they blower motor and the plate. The other issue with this is that there isn't any blower motor resister in this system so you really only have one speed. So what i did was there are two wires coming off the switch both of which have 12v to them. The wire that was hot when the switch was in the first position goes through a standard Chrysler ignition ceramic resister then to the blower motor. The second wire goes directly to the blower motor. I made a t connector at the blower motor to accept both wires. This set up gives you a two speed high out put (roughly double the volume on high) heater set up for the 77-76 cj's. Somebody else may have already figured this out but I could not find it. I don't know what the application of the blower motor is but any parts store should be able to cross that number to there brand. That particular number is from advanced. Hope this helps somebody out. Last week here in NE Ohio is was 17 below with the wind chill and I had defrosted window all the way across and was warm with and ill fitting soft top. If I can help anybody with this by answering questions let me know
