I love you guys. You motivated me to take this:

To this:

While it's not a professional paint job it's going to look much better. The DUI ignition with a new carb and this engine should make me happy for quite awhile. Thanks guys for chiming in. I appreciate your opinions. :chug:

Looks much better :notworthy:

Heck Yeah! Keep it going. :chug:

Considering I don't have much of an update I'll go over some of the things that went wrong. One of the biggest was when I somehow cracked the intake manifold. On later model Cjs the exhaust and intake manifolds share some bolts. When I took the last bolt out of the exhaust manifold I could actually feel the manifold "spring" outward.

As you guys following know I cleaned them up and painted the exhaust . Well when I went to reinstall it I couldn't get all the bolts to line up. Sometime while we were trying to get everything lined up this happened:

Luckily I had the other intake manifold from my old engine. I had to clean that one along with its exhaust manifold and repainted all over again. We finally got everything put together using studs in a few spots to get everything lined up. I lost two days on this set back alone. A lot of times these internet builds look so much easier than they are. ;)

Heres what's holding me up now. My AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l is from a Yj and used different motor mounts. We'll Chrysler decided it would be a great idea to make one of the Cj mount holes take a 12m 1.75 thread bolt. I don't have one so that wiped out putting it in Friday.

Not all is gloom and doom though. The bolt will be found and bought tomorrow and I got my inner fenders cleaned up and painted. I was a little frustrated so I decided to work on the 82 a little. I'll update that thread later:

Thank , I know you can appreciate how good it feels to get over one of those hurdles in your project. :chug:

:banana: Yea, let's fire that thing up!:banana:

Haha! Not so fast. I'm taking today and maybe tomorrow off from this project. Have to order my carb as well. May run this weekend but more than likely next week.
