Did you at least tow the jeep out there with you...? Doesn't seem right to make it pay for your shortcomings...

Watch for splinters when you slide down off that pole !

Well happy Independence Day everyone, I managed to make a preliminary cut on my skid plate to clear my front driveshaft while having to break up the fight between my little ones on who is going to drive the Jeep. I also got some yoke u bolts I got the Dorman 41003 from Orielly auto. it’s gonna be fun trying to install them on the Transfer Case yoke since I made the skid plate so long. Going to try to not remove my front shaft after I install it

On the farm I grew up on, the rule was that we had to be able to reach the pedals while being able to see the road in front of us. No wooden blocks allowed. Probably why I learned to drive on a Farmall. The seeing thing wasn't a problem.

I started on a Ford tractor when I was 5 years old with my dad on a trailer behind tossing hay to the cattle on our farm. I would stand on the clutch and brake and work the gas with my right hand on the column. 1st gear only until I was confident on what I was doing

Did some measuring and decided the rs55036 shock was a good fit for the front of the CJ

Dang I think I added an inch of lift just mocking up my new shock lol, still want to add 2 inches of height to the upper shock tower, going to see if I can rotate the brake hose out of the way as well

That shock looks to long to me it's not going to take much for it to bottom out.

It is very long, I plan to add 2 or more inches to the top shock tower to give as much up travel as I can, I have flat YJ springs so I do not have a lot of upward travel

That pic is a little deceiving I have 6 inches between the frame and spring with no bump stop, 5 inches before the shock is bottomed out and I can raise the shock tower 3 inches.

The shock is 21 inches collapsed and has 15 inches of travel
